
Here’s an idea: take homeless people in London and instead of letting them live in dark, miserable places, put them in a brightly lit and well furnished hostel, complete with garden plots and the education to give them the confidence to get back out on their own. But with a $6 million dollar price tag, it might be hard for other cities to follow suit.

What does the future of your business look like when you start pretending to be something else?

Building on previous executive orders to “green” the state of Virginia, now the order has been issued to eliminate using state funds for individual water bottles, encourage video conferencing and use of alternative fuel for traveling state employees, and required use of certified Virginia Green facilities for meetings attended by more than 50 people. If the state, with over 120,000 employees can do it, what’s stopping private businesses?

You can either make the pitch for vegetarianism. Or simply harness the acceptability of one lifestyle change to promote another lifestyle change. The vegetarian movement harnesses the normalization in society of the Prius to make it’s pitch….

Private label product companies like Target have a new competitor to watch out for: Amazon. Moving past being a retailer of other company’s goods, they started with the Kindle, and have moved onto items like yard tools, linens and furniture. If they succeed, it will show dynamic versatility of leadership in the giant retailer.
